Melissa Kiplagat, 28, is an internationally trained professional actress working primarily in Kenya. After graduating with an Economics degree from the Ivy-League, Brown University in 2013, she returned to Kenya to pursue a professional career in the arts and has never looked back. She has since performed in over 17 plays both in Nairobi and London, including Apples From The Desert, Butterflies Are Free, The Penelopiad and The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, 9 TV shows (leading in 3 including This Is Life, News Just In and Ngazi) and a number of short films including It’s Been A While and Kaleidoscope: a performance which earned her a Best Actress in Film nomination in the prestigious 2017 Kalasha Awards. Her performances have been found on TV stations including NTV, KTN, Rembo TV, Showmax, and Iflix, and on stages including Phoenix Theatre, Alliance Francaise, Kenya National Theatre, and Oshwal Theatre.

Having spent 2016-2017 pursuing her Masters in Acting at the world-renowned Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London, she returned to Kenya and is now pursuing not only her career as an actor but also her career as an acting instructor (she has lead over 15 masterclasses to date). She hopes to continue expanding her resume and brand both within and beyond the Kenyan borders and is thankful to all those who have contributed to her success thus far.
